How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Overview
We're looking for an Aftersales Manager to lead and develop the aftersales department at a well-established commercial vehicle specialist in Dorset, just outside Bournemouth. You'll be improving processes, people management, compliance, and customer experience – ensuring the business meets manufacturer KPIs, dealer standards, and health & safety requirements. Our client is a respected employer with high staff retention and a reputation for quality service. If you've got commercial vehicle workshop management experience and you're ready to drive performance, this is the one.

    Key Responsibilities

Leading and developing the aftersales team – managing performance, training, and motivation

Improving processes and communication across Parts, Service, Workshop, and Sales departments

Ensuring the department meets manufacturer KPIs, dealer standards, and compliance requirements

Taking ownership of the customer journey – improving communication, retention, and satisfaction

Managing Health & Safety – ensuring risk assessments, method statements, and safe working practices are in place

Monitoring departmental performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing action plans

Managing workshop capacity, workflow, and resource allocation to maximise efficiency and profitability

    What You'll Need

Strong HGV / commercial vehicle workshop experience (essential)

Proven experience managing technicians and workshop operations (essential)

Good technical knowledge – without needing to be the most technically skilled person in the workshop

Strong customer and fleet-account management skills

Understanding of workshop profitability and commercial performance

Ability to manage KPIs and improve productivity

Good knowledge of UK health & safety and commercial vehicle compliance

    Excellent organisation and communication skills

Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure

A genuine focus on customer retention and vehicle uptime

Experience using Keyloop is beneficial but not essential

You'll be a great fit if you're a natural leader, commercially minded, and want a stable role with a nationally recognised employer.

    What's On Offer

    £40,000 – £55,000 DOE

    30 days holiday per year

    Company pension scheme

    Ongoing training and development opportunities

    Supportive and professional working environment

Think you might be a good fit?
If you've got commercial vehicle workshop management experience and you're ready to lead an aftersales department, there's a strong salary, genuine responsibility, and a team that's been around for years.
