How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Fawkes & Reece are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a new build housing site in Ulverston on a long-term basis.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Site Manager with a strong background in residential new build to secure a long-term position with an established housebuilder.

    The Role

    As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

    Key responsibilities include:

    Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site teams.
    Overseeing the construction of new-build homes from start to completion.
    Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality across the site.
    Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to senior management.
    Conducting regular site inspections and toolbox talks.
    Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and building regulations.
    Managing materials, deliveries and site logistics.
    Maintaining accurate site records and documentation.
    Liaising with the client, contractors and other project stakeholders.

    Requirements

    Essential:

    Proven experience as a Site Manager within new housebuilding / residential construction.
    SMSTS.
    CSCS.
    First Aid at Work.
    Relevant and recent references
    Strong knowledge of health & safety requirements.
    Excellent communication and organisational skills.
    Ability to manage subcontractors and drive the programme forward.
    A strong eye for quality and attention to detail.
