How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Trailer Technician – Workshop & Mobile

    Up to £22ph

    Location: Irlam, Greater Manchester
    Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00am starts
    Hours per week: 40–50 hours
    Overtime: Available

    We’re looking for an experienced Trailer Technician to join our close-knit team based in the Irlam area.

    This is primarily a workshop-based role, with a small amount of mobile work involved, giving you a good mix of workshop repairs and occasional work out on the road.

    The Role

    You’ll be responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of a range of trailers, helping to keep them safe, reliable and roadworthy.

    Your day-to-day work will include:

    * Servicing, inspecting and maintaining trailers

    * Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults

    * Working on braking, suspension, lighting and electrical systems

    * Welding and fabrication where required

    * Preparing trailers for MOT/roadworthiness inspections

    * Carrying out repairs and maintenance in the workshop

    * Attending occasional mobile breakdowns and repair jobs

    * Working to a high standard while maintaining a safe and tidy workshop

    About You

    We’re looking for someone who is:

    * Experienced as a Trailer Technician, Trailer Mechanic, HGV Mechanic or similar

    * Confident with mechanical fault finding and repairs

    * Comfortable working on braking, suspension and electrical systems

    * Welding/fabrication experience would be an advantage

    * Able to work independently and as part of a close-knit team

    * Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious

    * Comfortable with 6:00am starts

    * Happy to carry out occasional mobile work

    * A full UK driving licence is desirable
