This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit in an office and tell everyone else what to do.
We're looking for someone who understands how a site works, takes health & safety seriously, communicates well with people and is happy to get stuck in when needed.
You may already be an experienced Site Supervisor, or you could be newly qualified and ready to take the next step. What's important is that you have the right attitude, understand the basics of site operations and can take responsibility for maintaining a safe, organised and productive working environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Supervising day-to-day activities on site
Ensuring work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures
Supporting the Site Manager / Project Manager with the smooth running of the site
Communicating clearly with operatives, subcontractors and other site personnel
Monitoring work progress and helping keep activities on programme
Carrying out site checks and ensuring standards are maintained
Supporting site inductions, toolbox talks and briefings
Identifying and addressing health & safety issues before they become problems
Challenging unsafe working practices when necessary
Helping coordinate materials, equipment and deliveries
Keeping site records and completing relevant paperwork
Liaising with management and providing updates on progress or issues
Helping resolve problems as they arise
Getting involved practically when required and supporting the wider team
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
CSCS carded and able to work on construction sites
You must hold a full UK driving licence
Experienced in a site-based environment, or newly qualified with good practical/site knowledge
Experience on commercial projects is an advantage
Confident in understanding and following health & safety procedures
A strong communicator who can deal with people at all levels
Organised and able to prioritise
Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions
Confident enough to challenge something when it isn't right
Practical and hands-on in their approach
Reliable, professional and willing to learn
Someone who takes pride in doing things properly
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
Valid CSCS card appropriate to the role
Good understanding of construction/site operations
Good understanding of health & safety
Strong communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a site team
Desirable:
SSSTS
Relevant NVQ/SVQ or construction qualification
Previous experience in a Site Supervisor, Foreman, Chargehand or similar role
Experience working alongside subcontractors and site teams
We would also consider newly qualified candidates who can demonstrate strong practical knowledge, the right attitude and a genuine interest in developing their career in site supervision.
The Person
This role will suit someone who is hands-on, switched-on and takes ownership.
You don't need to know everything on day one. What matters is that you understand the importance of doing things safely, can communicate with people, aren't afraid to ask questions and will step up when something needs dealing with.
You should be comfortable being the person on site who spots a problem, communicates it and helps find the solution.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can lead by example — safety first, communicate properly, get involved and get the job done.
What’s in It for You?
A company van or car and fuel card.
Annual bonus.
21 days holiday + bank holidays.
Christmas shutdown.
Join a supportive and social team with regular events.
If you’re ambitious, ready to learn, and keen to develop your career in site management, we’d love to hear from you!
