How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer Contract – 6 Months duration / or permanent available.

    Up to £30 per hour PAYE / £40 per hour Umbrella

    4 on 4 off – rotating days & nights

    Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Job Description We are looking for experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineers to join a major engineering and manufacturing site in Birmingham, specialising in the production of high-quality products for a range of specialist industries.

    Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and preventative maintenance.
    Diagnose faults across electrical and mechanical systems on industrial machinery, including furnaces, cranes and CNC machines.
    Read and interpret electrical drawings and carry out electrical fault finding.
    Monitor machinery performance and identify recurring faults and improvements.
    Work closely with production teams to respond to breakdowns and minimise downtime.Electrical Maintenance Engineer – Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications
    Proven experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
    Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
    Confident reading electrical drawings – essential.
    PLC fault finding / ladder logic experience desirable.
    High Voltage experience desirable.
    ONC, HNC or City & Guilds qualification advantageous.
    Comfortable working in an industrial environment, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
    Heavy engineering experience would be advantageous but is not essential.Contract Details
    6-month contract
    Up to £30 per hour PAYE / £40 per hour Umbrella
    4 on 4 off rotating days and nights.
    7am–7pm days / 7pm–7am nights.
