How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An opportunity has arisen for a part-time Database Administrator to join our Operations Team at Valley House.   You will be joining a multi service charity based in Coventry.  In return, we offer a competitive salary of £13,000 per annum.  26 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata'd) with an additional day's leave for every 2 years of service, up to a maximum of 29 days per year. A contributory pension scheme.

    What We Do

    Valley House provides supported accommodation for vulnerable individuals and families, as well as a range of community services. 

    You will be responsible for the service user data management information system.

    · To collect and analyse data to identify trends and provide the organisation with valuable information that can be used to improve services.

    · Be the expert user of the service user data management system and support staff in expanding their knowledge of the system and assist them in using it to its full capability.

    · To provide training for staff, ensuring they understand the data management system.

    · Analyse and interpret information from the service user data management system to provide up to date information and reports, including quality monitoring.

    · Provide quarterly reports to the Senior Management Team and the Board, ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act.

    · Support the ongoing development and review of our internal Outcome’s framework.

    The successful candidate will have: 

    Proven experience in important aspects of the job, such as statistical analysis and working

    with data sets, data analysis tools and relational databases

    Experience of collating and interpreting data to produce high quality reports

    Experience of working with Microsoft Office applications and data management

    systems/software packages

    Experience of handling a varied workload with conflicting demands and timescales

    Knowledge of Data Structures, numerical analysis and data interpretation

    A good knowledge of data protection procedures

    An understanding of Outcome frameworks

    An understanding and passion for the work of Valley House

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    High level of IT skills to ensure precision and accuracy

    The ability to pay attention to detail when working with data in order to make accurate

    conclusions and predictions

    An ability to work confidently on own initiative

    Advanced Excel skills

    This post requires a satisfactory DBS check.  For applicants who have been residing overseas during the last 5 years you will be required to obtain a certificate of good conduct from the country where you have been living.

    The hours of work are 37.5 hours per week.

    The closing date is 4pm on Monday 28 September 2026 and interviews are to be held on Friday 2 October 2026
