How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Machine Learning Engineer

    £60,000 | 12-month FTC | West London | Hybrid – 2 days onsite

An opportunity for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to build, deploy and operate production-grade machine learning systems at scale.

This is a hands-on ML Engineering role rather than a GenAI-focused position. You'll work across the full machine learning lifecycle, from model development and training through to pipelines, deployment, serving, monitoring and ongoing optimisation.

    The role

    * Designing, training and optimising machine learning models using TensorFlow

    * Building and maintaining scalable ML pipelines using TFX

    * Deploying and serving models within production environments

    * Monitoring and maintaining ML systems to ensure reliability and performance

    * Working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets

    * Contributing to experimentation and continuous model improvement

    * Collaborating with engineering, data and product teams to deliver ML solutions that solve real business problems

    Your experience

    * 4+ years of relevant, hands-on Machine Learning Engineering experience

    * Strong commercial experience with TensorFlow

    * Hands-on experience with TFX (TensorFlow Extended) and production ML pipelines

    * Experience taking ML models from development through to production deployment

    * Strong understanding of MLOps, model serving, monitoring and maintenance

    * Experience building scalable ML systems in production environments

    * Strong Python skills

Experience with recommendation systems, personalisation, ranking algorithms or high-volume/real-time data would be beneficial, but isn't essential.

Experience with TensorFlow Serving, Triton, TorchServe, Scala or production GenAI applications would also be advantageous.

    UK experience isn't essential

Previous UK experience isn't required. Applications are welcome from experienced Machine Learning Engineers who have built their careers internationally and are now looking to establish or continue their career in the UK.

You must already have the right to work in the UK for the duration of the 12-month contract, as sponsorship isn't available for this position.

If you've built and operated production ML systems using TensorFlow and TFX and are looking for your next opportunity in the UK, this could be a strong fit.
