How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working across electric, water and gas networks, we support a diverse range of projects from housing developments and commercial sites to renewable energy and EV charging infrastructure throughout the UK.

We’re looking for a highly organised and proactive Tools & Equipment Coordinator to join our team, based at our head office in Hedge End, Southampton.

This role is essential in ensuring our operational teams have the right tools, equipment, small plant and PPE available, compliant, and ready for use. Working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, you will help maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency across the business.

    Responsibilities

    * Maintain accurate records of all equipment requiring calibration, LOLER, PAT, and other statutory testing on the asset inventory and equipment.

    * Accountable for accurate asset allocation records.

    * Monitor and manage equipment due for testing, ensuring no overdue equipment remains in operational use.

    * Liaise with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to coordinate inspections, testing, servicing, and compliance requirements.

    * Accurately check and record all goods received and issued through the inventory management system.

    * Work with the buying team to resolve deficiencies, inaccuracies, shortages, or damaged stock.

    * Monitor stock levels and support inventory planning activities.

    * Pick and issue PPE, tools, and equipment to operational teams in a timely and accurate manner.

    * Carry out regular stock counts, ensuring high levels of inventory accuracy.

    * Work in accordance with company Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.

    * Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stores environment.

    * Ensure all tools, equipment, PPE, and materials are stored securely and appropriately.

    * Inspect, empty, and prepare returned vehicles, tools, and equipment for reallocation and operational use.

    * Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and procedures to enhance efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.

    Skills Required

    * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

    * Strong organisational and time management skills.

    * Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

    * Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    * Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    * Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate and address potential challenges.

    * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.

    * Highly organised, methodical, and detail-driven approach to work.

    * Proactive and collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

    Educational Requirements

    * Minimum of 2 years' administrative experience is required.

    * Experience within construction, utilities, or a related industry is preferred.

    * Degree-level education is advantageous but not essential.

    * Knowledge of Salesforce CRM is beneficial.
