How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    HGV Technician - Grays | Earn up to £56,000 + overtime, excellent benefits and long-term career development

    We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join an established commercial vehicle operation in Grays, where you'll work as part of a skilled workshop team maintaining a varied fleet of heavy goods vehicles. You'll have the opportunity to develop your technical skills while working in a professional and well-established environment.

    As an HGV Technician, you'll play an important role in keeping vehicles safe, reliable and roadworthy. Your duties will include:

    Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
    Carrying out servicing, maintenance and safety inspections
    Using specialist diagnostic equipment to identify faults
    Identifying and reporting any additional repair requirements
    Completing job cards accurately and efficiently
    Working closely with the Shift Supervisor to manage daily workloads
    Supporting call-out and breakdown requirements when requiredWhat we're looking for

    You'll ideally bring:

    C&G or NVQ Level 3 qualification in HGV Maintenance or equivalent
    Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
    Previous experience working on HGVs or commercial vehicles
    Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment
    A good understanding of workshop health and safety
    A full UK driving licence; HGV licence would be advantageousThe role operates Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required to support the wider workshop. Occasional Saturday work may also form part of the rota.
