Dornan Engineering Group is a leading international engineering contractor delivering high-value projects across Europe, UK & Ireland. Based in Cork, this is an exciting opportunity to join our growing Engineering team as a Structural Engineer, supporting the delivery of our various projects.
Your day will include:
Providing structural engineering and technical support to large-scale data centre and pharmaceutical projects across Ireland and Europe.
Supporting pre-construction activities including design reviews, tender submissions, technical queries and project mobilisation.
Reviewing structural drawings, specifications and design information to ensure technical compliance and constructability.
Coordinating structural requirements with civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical and other engineering disciplines.
Identifying design and constructability issues and developing practical engineering solutions.
Supporting project teams with technical submissions, RFIs, value engineering and engineering documentation.
Working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams to resolve technical issues.
Providing ongoing engineering support throughout project delivery, with occasional travel to project sites across Ireland and Europe.
About You
Degree qualified in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
3+ years' experience in structural engineering, preferably within construction, engineering contracting or consultancy.
Experience working on large-scale, complex projects; data centre or pharmaceutical experience is advantageous.
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, construction methodologies and buildability.
Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
