How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    * Experience attending and contributing to child protection conferences.

    * Experience working with children and families where cases may be passed to a Child Protection and Court Team.

    * Experience undertaking court-directed assessments under Section 7 of the Children Act 1989.

    * Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection procedures and relevant children's social care legislation.

    * Ability to manage a complex caseload and work effectively within a busy statutory service.

    * Excellent assessment, report-writing, communication and professional decision-making skills.

    * Current Social Work England registration.

    * Relevant Social Work qualification.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    * Manage a caseload of children and families and undertake high-quality statutory assessments and interventions.

    * Participate in duty arrangements, responding appropriately to referrals, concerns and requests for support.

    * Undertake Section 47 enquiries and assess risk where children may be experiencing or at risk of significant harm.

    * Attend child protection conferences and contribute professional assessments, recommendations and reports.

    * Undertake court-directed assessments under Section 7 and prepare clear, accurate reports.

    * Work collaboratively with children, parents, carers and partner agencies to safeguard children and achieve positive outcomes.

    * Ensure all case records, assessments, reports and plans are completed accurately and within statutory timescales.

    * Work in accordance with safeguarding procedures, relevant legislation and local authority policies.

    * Maintain a child-centred approach and ensure the voice, wishes and feelings of children are reflected throughout your work.

    DESIRABLE

    * A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.

    * Candidates who are local to Brent and the surrounding areas are desirable.
