Location: Dudley, West Midlands
Day Rate: £240 – £280 Per Day
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Passive Fire Surveyor to secure a long-term, stable contract with a well-established and highly regarded passive fire protection contractor. The role is based on a single site in Dudley, running on an ongoing basis with work potentially extending through to February 2026 — offering the kind of consistency and stability that is rare in contract surveying.
This is not a short-term fill — it is a long-term engagement with a contractor that has a strong reputation for quality, compliance and investing in its people. If you are a surveyor looking to plant your feet somewhere solid and get your head down on meaningful, varied survey work, this is the role for you.
There is minimal travel involved as works are focused on one site at a time, so your day rate is your day rate — no mileage concerns eating into your earnings.
The Role
As Passive Fire Surveyor, you will carry out full compartmentation, fire door and riser cupboard surveys across social housing properties in Dudley. You will work independently and efficiently, producing accurate and detailed survey records throughout, ensuring all findings are captured compliantly and to the high standards expected by the client.

* Identify defects and non-compliance in line with current regulations and passive fire standards
* Work independently across occupied social housing properties, maintaining a professional and tenant-friendly approach at all times
* Liaise professionally with site teams and the client throughout the contract
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience carrying out passive fire surveys covering compartmentation, fire doors and risers — all three disciplines essential
* Strong technical knowledge of fire door compliance including gaps, tolerances, ironmongery and intumescent seals
* Strong knowledge of compartmentation standards including fire stopping, penetration seals and cavity barriers
* Experience working within occupied social housing environments — essential
