How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Turner

    Denton, Greater Manchester

    £16.50 - £17.50 per hour Permanent Position Training & Development Opportunities Available

    CNC Turner Required

    Winsearch UK are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner on behalf of a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Denton. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist seeking a long-term career with a company that actively invests in employee development and training.

    The successful candidate will be an experienced Programmer, Setter and Operator with knowledge of CNC turning processes and experience working with either Fanuc, Siemens or Prototrak controls. Whilst previous Mazak experience is not essential, candidates must be enthusiastic about learning new technologies and willing to undertake formal Mazak control training, fully funded by the company.

    Key Responsibilities

    Programming, setting and operating CNC turning machinery.
    Producing precision components to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
    Selecting appropriate tooling and setting machine offsets.
    Editing and optimising CNC programs as required.
    Performing first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.
    Ensuring components meet quality and dimensional standards.
    Identifying opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies.
    Maintaining a safe and organised working environment.
    Adhering to all company quality, health and safety procedures.
    Candidate Requirements

    Essential

    Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
    Experience using at least one of the following control systems:

    Fanuc
    Siemens
    Prototrak

    Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
    Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling and tolerances.
    Experience producing precision engineered components.
    Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
    Desirable

    Previous experience with Mazak controls.
    Experience within precision engineering, aerospace, oil & gas, automotive or similar manufacturing environments.
    Engineering qualifications or time-served apprenticeship.
    Training & Development

    This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a machinist looking to broaden their skillset.

    The successful candidate will be:

    Fully supported in learning Mazak control systems
    Sent on a manufacturer-approved Mazak training course, funded by the company
    Given long-term development opportunities within a growing engineering business
    Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop their technical capabilities and embrace new manufacturing technologies.
