Are you an Assistant Accountant looking to develop your management accounting experience within a supportive and collaborative finance team?
I am recruiting on behalf of a well established charitable organisation in Glasgow that is looking for a proactive Assistant Accountant to join its Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who already has a solid accounting foundation and wants to take greater ownership of month end, management accounts and financial reporting.
You will be joining a friendly and experienced finance team where you will have the opportunity to continue developing your skills while making a genuine contribution to the wider organisation.
The Role
Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:
* Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Preparing profit and loss reporting across multiple locations
* Calculating and processing accruals and prepayments
* Preparing and posting journals
* Supporting month end processes and financial reporting
* Reviewing financial information and identifying discrepancies
* Assisting with reconciliations and resolving accounting queries
* Using Excel extensively for financial analysis and reporting
* Communicating with colleagues across the wider organisation
* Taking ownership of your workload and ensuring deadlines are met
What We Are Looking For
* Strong Excel skills
* A solid understanding of accruals and prepayments, including the ability to calculate these independently
* Experience with profit and loss reporting
* Experience preparing and posting journals
* A good understanding of debits and credits
* Strong communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* A proactive approach with the confidence to use your own initiative
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also managing your workload independently
* A genuine desire to learn and develop within finance
