A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Planner to join a well-established and growing organisation within the foodservice sector.
This is a varied role where you will play an important part in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods across the business, maintaining strong stock availability while controlling costs and delivering excellent customer service.
What you'll be doing
Working as part of the planning team, your responsibilities will include:
Managing inventory and end-to-end supply planning across a designated product range
Ensuring the right level of stock is available at the right place and time, while maximising product date life
Analysing historical data and market trends to forecast future demand
Maintaining optimal inventory levels while minimising stock holding costs
Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
Negotiating supply chain agreements and monitoring supplier performance and service levels
Identifying problem or obsolete stock and working with Sales and Commercial teams to find effective solutions
Working with Account Managers on product forecasting for key customers
Overseeing transportation and storage of goods and coordinating stock movements between depots to maximise availability and sales
Identifying and mitigating potential supply chain disruptions, including stock shortages and transportation delays
Making commercially effective buying decisions, identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting margin targets
Managing forecasting requirements, including promotional buy-ins and seasonal uplifts
Maintaining accurate supply chain data and working in line with regulatory and data security requirements
Supporting environmental and sustainability goals within day-to-day activities
Promoting high standards of food safety, product quality and integrity
Following Health & Safety procedures and contributing to a safe working environment
What we're looking for
We are looking for an organised and solutions-focused individual with strong analytical skills.
Strong Excel skills
Good IT, administration and numeracy skills
Experience using Outlook, BI and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to analyse large datasets, identify trends and make informed decisions
Highly organised with strong time management skills
Good attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
A team player with a proactive and customer-focused approach
Exposure to basic supply planning principles
Experience within supply chain planning, FMCG, forecasting, demand planning or inventory management would be advantageous
Experience with supply chain planning software such as SAP, Oracle or JDA would be beneficial
CIPS Level 3 would be advantageous
