How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Futures Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Switchgear Engineer to join a growing engineering team working on the design, manufacture, installation and support of LV/MV switchgear solutions.

    This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong electrical background who understands switchgear systems and enjoys solving technical problems in a practical, fast-paced environment.

    As an Electrical Switchgear Engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting switchgear projects from initial technical requirements through to manufacture, testing, installation and commissioning.

    Reviewing technical specifications, drawings and customer requirements
    Supporting the design and engineering of LV/MV switchgear and electrical distribution systems
    Producing and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
    Selecting appropriate components, protection devices and switchgear equipment
    Providing technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams
    Carrying out or supporting FAT, testing and commissioning
    Troubleshooting electrical and switchgear-related faults
    Working closely with project managers, customers, suppliers and site teams
    Ensuring designs and installations comply with relevant electrical standards and safety requirements
    The Ideal Candidate

    Previous experience working with switchgear, control panels or electrical distribution equipment
    A strong understanding of LV and/or MV electrical systems
    Experience reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
    Knowledge of protection, control and distribution equipment
    A relevant electrical/electronic engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience
    Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
    Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, production and project teams
