An exciting opportunity has become available within a growing Building Services consultancy in London.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Mechanical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of developments.
You'll play a key role within the business, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and senior stakeholders while contributing to the successful delivery of projects from concept through to completion.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll lead and contribute to a range of technically challenging projects across sectors including:
Commercial developments
Residential and mixed-use schemes
Education facilities
Healthcare projects
Life sciences
Data centres
Hospitality and leisureYou will be responsible for developing robust mechanical design solutions, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Leading the mechanical design and delivery of building services projects
Producing and reviewing detailed calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation
Managing project deliverables across multiple RIBA stages
Taking responsibility for programme, quality, and design output
Coordinating with internal and external project teams
Attending and leading client, design, and stakeholder meetings
Supporting the development of sustainable and low-carbon building services strategies
Undertaking site visits, surveys, and construction-stage support
Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and graduatesWhat We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess:
Strong experience within a Building Services Consultancy environment
Proven mechanical building services design experience across a variety of sectors
A solid understanding of HVAC, public health, and sustainable design principles
Experience leading projects and managing client relationships
Knowledge of current industry regulations and engineering standards
Proficiency with industry software such as Revit, Hevacomp, IES, or similar design packages
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider teamChartered Engineer status, or active progress towards Chartership, would be beneficial but is not essential.
