About the Company
We are working with a growing and ambitious fit-out contractor delivering high-quality commercial, retail, hospitality, and workplace interior projects across the UK.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their Northampton-based team and play a key role in the successful commercial delivery of a range of fit-out projects.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Working closely with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, you will manage procurement, monitor project costs, oversee commercial performance, and ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed budgets and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the commercial aspects of multiple fit-out projects.
Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage subcontractor packages and orders.
Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers.
Produce cost plans, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
Manage variations, change control, valuations, and commercial reporting.
Prepare and submit interim applications for payment.
Assess subcontractor applications and process payments.
Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
Provide commercial support and advice to project delivery teams.
Maintain accurate commercial records and provide regular financial reporting.
Ensure contractual obligations and company procedures are consistently followed. Essential Requirements
Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within fit-out, interiors, refurbishment, or construction.
Proven experience managing subcontractor packages.
Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable
Experience delivering commercial office, retail, hospitality, or interior fit-out projects.
Knowledge of JCT contracts.
RICS membership or currently working towards chartership. Personal Attributes
