How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Mastic Man - Reading

    Location: Reading, Berkshire
    Salary: Competitive, based on experience
    Job Type: Full-time

    We are looking for an experienced and reliable Mastic Man to join our team, working on projects across Reading and the surrounding areas.

    The Role

    You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality mastic and sealant works on a range of commercial and residential construction projects. The ideal candidate will take pride in their work, have excellent attention to detail and be able to work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of finish.

    Key Responsibilities

    Applying silicone, mastic and other sealants to a professional standard.
    Sealing around windows, doors, bathrooms, kitchens, floors and other areas as required.
    Working from drawings and site instructions where necessary.
    Ensuring all work is neat, clean and finished to a high standard.
    Preparing surfaces before application and ensuring correct adhesion.
    Working safely and keeping work areas clean and tidy.
    Liaising professionally with site managers and other trades.

    Requirements

    Previous experience as a Mastic Man / Sealant Applicator.
    Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
    Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    Good understanding of construction sites and health & safety requirements.
    CSCS card preferred.
    Own tools and transport preferred.
    Right to work in the UK.
