How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer / Lead Structural Engineer

    Remote / Home Based | Occasional UK Office Travel | Long-Term Contracts

    DFM Resourcing is supporting a major UK nuclear new-build programme and is looking to speak with experienced Civil & Structural Engineers across Engineer, Senior and Lead level.

    This is an opportunity to contribute to a major safety-critical engineering programme involving the analysis, design and substantiation of complex civil and structural infrastructure.

    The Role:

    Depending on your experience and seniority, responsibilities may include:

    * Structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structures

    * Production/review of calculations, models, drawings and specifications

    * Assessment of normal, construction, environmental and extreme loading conditions

    * Seismic, thermal and accidental load assessment

    * Design substantiation and technical justification

    * Technical reports and engineering assurance documentation

    * Multidisciplinary coordination across civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, process, construction and safety disciplines

    * Technical assurance and design reviews

    * At Lead/Senior level, technical leadership, mentoring and management of engineering interfaces

    These requirements reflect the structural workstreams across the programme, including complex loading and safety-critical design.

    Experience Required:

    * Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or equivalent

    * Strong reinforced concrete and/or structural steel experience

    * Structural analysis and design experience

    * Knowledge of UK/international design codes

    * Experience of major infrastructure, energy or another regulated/safety-critical environment

    * Chartered status or progress towards CEng depending on seniority

    * Strong design substantiation and technical reporting capability

    * Nuclear experience is advantageous but not essential.

    We are particularly interested in transferable experience from major infrastructure, defence, energy, marine/offshore and other highly regulated engineering environments. The source specifications specifically welcome candidates considering a sector move from regulated or safety-critical industries.

    The Opportunity

    * Predominantly remote / home-based

    * Occasional office travel

    * Full and reduced-hours requirements available across the programme

    * Long-term engineering programme

    * Major UK nuclear new-build project
