How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Hydrogeology | Engineering Geology | Geoenvironmental | Coastal Engineering

    DFM Resourcing is looking to speak with experienced Ground, Water and Environmental Engineering specialists for a major UK nuclear new-build programme.

    We have several specialist requirements and are interested in candidates across:

    Hydrogeology

    Engineering Geology

    Geoenvironmental Engineering

    Coastal / Marine Engineering

    Hydrogeology

    Relevant experience includes:

    * Groundwater assessments

    * Hydrogeological investigations

    * Groundwater modelling

    * Aquifer characterisation

    * Dewatering

    * Contaminant transport

    * Water resource management

    * Environmental impact assessment

    * Hydrogeological risk

    Relevant packages include MODFLOW, FEFLOW, SEEP/W and other groundwater modelling tools.

    Senior SME-level opportunities involve technical leadership, regulatory/environmental assessment and technical assurance of hydrogeological models.

    Engineering Geology

    We're interested in experience covering:

    Ground investigations

    Site characterisation

    Rock mass characterisation

    Geological risk

    Engineering ground models

    Geological/structural modelling

    GIS and digital engineering

    Relevant tools include OpenGround, Leapfrog and Civil 3D Geotechnical Modeller.

    Geoenvironmental

    Relevant experience includes:

    * Contaminated land

    * Site investigation

    * Environmental risk assessment

    * Remediation strategies

    * Waste classification

    * Groundwater protection

    * Environmental permitting

    * Human health and controlled waters risk

    The programme's Geoenvironmental requirement specifically includes contaminated-land assessment, remediation, waste management and environmental constraints.

    Coastal / Marine

    We're also interested in candidates experienced in:

    * Coastal protection

    * Marine structures

    * Wave loading

    * Scour

    * Flooding

    * Erosion

    * Climate resilience

    * Coastal/hydraulic modelling

    The Opportunity

    Predominantly remote / home based role

    Occasional UK office travel
