How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Account Manager on behalf of our client to take ownership of the day-to-day management and commercial performance of a portfolio of key national major FMCG retail customers.

This is a hands-on role, responsible for ensuring that the retail customers receive an excellent level of service while managing the commercial detail behind each account- including pricing, costs, margins, volumes, trade plans, forecasting, modelling and new line submissions.

    Candidate Profile Account Manager FMCG

We are looking for someone who is commercially sharp, organised and confident dealing directly with major retail customers.

    Essential for Account Manager FMCG

    * Experience in an Account Management or Commercial role, ideally within FMCG, retail, wholesale or a related environment.

    * Experience dealing with major retailers or large commercial customers.

    * Strong commercial understanding, including pricing, costs, margins and volumes.

    * Excellent Excel and numerical skills.

    * Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

    * Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

    * Comfortable managing multiple customers, deadlines and priorities.

    * Strong communication and negotiation skills.

    * Proactive approach — someone who takes ownership rather than waiting to be asked.

    * Ability to work confidently with both customers and internal teams.

    * Worked on new product launches rather than managing established accounts only

    Desirable for Account Manager FMCG

    * Experience working with retailers such as Poundland, Asda, B&M, Home Bargains, Tesco, Sainsbury's or similar.

    * Experience with new line submissions and retail customer systems.

    * Experience building commercial models and forecasts.

    * FMCG, consumer goods or branded/product-led business experience.

The Person for Account Manager FMCG

    The ideal candidate will be:

    * Commercial – understands that sales are only valuable when they generate profitable growth.

    * Organised – able to keep on top of multiple customers, actions, deadlines and commercial details.

    * Proactive – spots issues and opportunities before they become problems.

    * Confident – comfortable speaking to buyers and senior customer contacts.

    * Numerate – able to work confidently with costs, pricing, margins, volumes and commercial models.

    * Accountable – takes ownership and follows things through.

    * Practical – happy getting into the detail and making things happen rather than simply managing from a distance.

    * Growth-focused – looks for ways to increase sales, improve distribution, launch new lines and develop customer relationships.

    Reporting Structure

    Reports to: Sales Director

Key working relationships: MD, Sales Director, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and Product teams.

    Key Performance Indicators

Why This Role Matters Account Manager FMCG

This is an important role within the business. We are looking for someone who can take real ownership of the key retail accounts and become a trusted extension of the commercial team.

The opportunity is not simply to manage orders and answer customer emails. It is to understand each account commercially, manage the detail, build the relationship and actively help grow profitable sales.

The successful candidate will give the Sales Director the capacity to spend more time on strategic customer development and new business, while giving the MD greater capacity to focus on the overall growth and development of the company.

In short: own the detail, protect the margin, look after the customer and find opportunities to grow the account.
