How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Construction Planner
    Location: Bridgewater
    Salary: Competitive
    Vacancy Type: Permanent
    We are seeking an experienced and technically capable Mechanical Construction Planner to support the planning and delivery of mechanical construction activities within the MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C.
    The role will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed mechanical Level 5 construction schedules and four-week lookahead plans. Working as part of the MEH Planning and Project Control function, the role will provide accurate, evidence-based progress information and support visibility of construction readiness, productivity, constraints and schedule risks.
    The successful candidate will work closely with construction and delivery teams to integrate engineering, materials, access, resources, quality and commissioning requirements, ensuring planned activities are ready for execution and aligned with the wider MEH programme.
    Key Deliverables / Accountabilities:
    * Develop and maintain detailed mechanical Level 5 construction schedules.
    * Prepare, maintain and update mechanical four-week lookahead plans.
    * Ensure mechanical schedules are aligned with the overall 16-week lookahead and key programme milestones.
    * Establish activity-level progress and quantity measurement requirements.
    * Measure construction progress and track installed quantities against planned outputs.
    * Provide accurate, evidence-based schedule progress updates.
    * Integrate engineering, materials, access, resources, quality and commissioning requirements into construction planning activities.
    * Confirm activity readiness with construction and delivery teams.
    * Identify construction constraints, risks and potential programme impacts, escalating issues where appropriate.
    * Provide clear visibility of construction readiness, productivity and schedule performance to support safe and predictable delivery.
    * Work collaboratively with the MEH Planning and Project Control teams to support overall programme delivery.
    * Maintain accurate planning information and ensure schedule data reflects actual site progress.
    * Maintained mechanical Level 5 construction schedules.
    * Weekly mechanical four-week lookahead plans.
    * Mechanical inputs to the overall MEH 16-week lookahead.
    * Accurate, evidence-based schedule progress updates.
    * Installed and remaining quantity trackers.
    * Planned versus actual quantity and productivity reports.
    * Clear identification and communication of construction readiness, constraints and schedule risks.
    Key Requirements / Qualifications:
    * HNC in any engineering discipline.
    * Minimum of 5 years' experience within a construction planning environment.
    * Proven experience developing and maintaining construction schedules, ideally within a large-scale engineering or construction project.
    * Good understanding of construction sequencing, progress measurement and quantity tracking.
    * Ability to integrate engineering, materials, access, resources, quality and commissioning requirements into construction plans.
    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify constraints and programme risks.
    * Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with construction, engineering, project controls and delivery teams.
    * Ability to work accurately to deadlines within a complex, highly regulated construction environment.
    * Previous experience within the nuclear, heavy industry or major infrastructure sectors would be advantageous.
    * Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and compliance.
