How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This position entails managing the end-to-end commissioning of the NZT OSBL 275 kV XLPE cable system, including all associated systems and interfaces.

    Key Responsibilities:

Attend project and client meetings and represent the company at National Grid commissioning panels.
Coordinate interfaces with BP, National Grid, OEMs, and other stakeholders.
Ensure all commissioning activities comply with statutory requirements and client-specific standards.
Lead commissioning tests, including visual checks, conductor continuity, insulation checks, and AC withstand testing.
Evaluate test data, diagnose anomalies, and direct fault investigations.
Coordinate with other teams for seamless commissioning with adjacent systems and substation interfaces.

    Job Requirements:

Experience as a TP141 Commissioning Engineer, with authorisation or equivalent qualifications.
Strong background in EHV cable systems and transmission-class systems at 275 kV and/or 400 kV.
Familiarity with National Grid safety, outage, and energisation processes.
Proven ability to lead and manage commissioning programmes and documentation.
Competence in interpreting complex test data and leading technical investigations.
Detailed understanding of transmission safety rules and permit-to-work procedures.

    Desirable Skills:

    Current National Grid TP141 authorisation.
Experience with SCADA, telecoms, and substation commissioning.

Ensure all personnel are competent, briefed, and authorized for commissioning activities.
Lead pre-test briefings, toolbox talks, and monitor team performance.
If you possess the necessary expertise and are ready to take on an exciting and responsible role in the T&D sector, we would love to hear from you. Apply now to join our client's dynamic team in Teesside
