How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

German Speaking Publishing Onboarding & Product Specialist

    Remote – UK Based

    £50,000

    - Are you fluent in German with a background in newspaper publishing or production?

    - Do you understand what actually goes into getting a newspaper from content through to the finished page?

    - Would you enjoy a varied role combining clients, technology, onboarding, training and product development?

We are recruiting for a successful digital publishing technology company working with newspaper and media organisations around the world.

They are looking for a German Speaking Publishing Onboarding & Product Specialist to work closely with publishers as they implement and adopt an innovative automated page layout solution.

Fluent German is essential for this role, and additional European languages would be a real advantage.

This isn't a traditional account management role and it isn't purely technical either. You will sit between the client, product and development teams, helping publishers successfully introduce the technology into their existing production environment.

You could be demonstrating the product to a client one day, managing an implementation the next, delivering training or working with the development team to explain how the product could be improved.

    What will you be doing?

    * Demonstrating the product to prospective and new clients

    * Managing new client onboarding from initial setup through to go-live

    * Understanding existing newspaper production workflows and how the technology will fit into them

    * Helping clients integrate the product with their existing systems and processes

    * Building and managing project plans and keeping implementations on track

    * Running client training sessions

    * Producing clear onboarding and training documentation

    * Working closely with clients to understand their requirements and challenges

    * Feeding client feedback and ideas back into the product team

    * Translating client requirements into clear information for developers

    * Helping identify ways the product could be improved for publishers

    What are we looking for?

You will ideally have a background within newspaper publishing, newspaper production or a closely related publishing environment.

We are particularly interested in people who understand the practical side of producing newspapers – the newsroom, production process, pagination and the systems involved in getting a daily or weekly publication out.

    You will also need:

    * Fluent German - this is essential

    * Strong English communication skills

    * Additional European languages would be useful

    * Experience working directly with clients or customers

    * Good project management and organisational skills

    * Confidence managing several pieces of work at the same time

    * The ability to communicate comfortably with both clients and technical teams

    * An understanding of digital publishing and how it fits alongside print production

    * A practical, commercially minded approach to problem solving

    * An interest in technology, automation and how products can be improved

    * Confidence using AI tools as part of your day-to-day work

Experience with XML, structured content feeds, publishing CMS platforms or page-plan data would be useful but isn't essential.

This is a really interesting opportunity for someone from the publishing world who wants to move into a more varied technology-focused position while still using their knowledge of how newspapers actually operate.

The role can be fully remote, but you must be based in the UK
