Reporting to the UK Sourcing Leader, you'll be responsible for managing supplier relationships, supporting procurement activities, resolving supply chain issues and identifying opportunities to improve performance and reduce risk.
Location: Rugby, with travel to suppliers as required (6 months office based, hybrid afterwards)
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 DOE + 10% annual bonus + benefits (10% employer pension contribution, healthcare cover, life insurance)
Key Responsibilities
Negotiate and manage supplier terms and conditions, including claims and supplier recovery
Manage purchase orders, order fulfilment, invoice queries and supplier expediting to ensure on-time delivery
Monitor supplier performance against schedule, cost, quality and manufacturing requirements
Coordinate supplier and product qualification activities with Quality and Engineering teams
Identify supply chain risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans
Develop alternative sources and risk mitigation strategies for single and sole-source suppliers
Identify and deliver cost-saving and value-adding opportunities across the supply chain
Support the resolution of commercial, technical, quality and delivery issues
Support engineering changes, quality escalations and supplier recovery activities
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in Buying, Procurement, Sourcing or Supply Chain, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment
Experience managing suppliers and purchase orders within a project-based environment
Strong negotiation and commercial skills
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues
Good IT skills, including SAP and Microsoft Office
Experience with MS Project would be beneficial
Desirable Experience
Experience within the Power, Energy, Nuclear, Defence or Engineering industries
Experience working with complex or high-value engineering products
Supplier Quality or Quality Engineering experience
Previous SC clearance would be beneficial but is not essential
Additional Information
This is a high-volume, high-value project environment, where you'll be managing established suppliers and supporting multiple workstreams at the same time.
The successful candidate will need to be able to travel to UK supplier sites when required and be comfortable managing competing priorities, supplier issues and project escalations.
This work is undertaken with UK Defence customers, which will require the successful candidate to hold or be capable of obtaining SC Level clearance as a UK passport holder. Applicants who are not cleared will not be accepted into the business until the required clearance is provided.
Dual passport holders are acceptable where the second country is approved by the relevant vetting authority.
