A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Field Service Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering organisation on a remote and field-based basis.
Ideally located within the Stoke-on-Trent or wider Midlands area, you will be responsible for travelling to customer sites across the UK to carry out planned servicing, site work and mechanical engineering activities.
You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Prior to attending site, you will prepare and submit accurate RAMS for approval and ensure you have the correct equipment, PPE and tooling required to complete the planned work.
Following each visit, you will complete detailed and professional site reports outlining the work undertaken, together with any observations or recommendations for further action.
Job Description for the Field Service Mechanical Engineer role:
As the Field Service Mechanical Engineer you will be completing planned site work and servicing activities in line with schedules and customer requirements
As the Field Service Mechanical Engineer you will be preparing and submitting accurate RAMS prior to commencing work
Producing timely and detailed site reports following each job
As the Field Service Mechanical Engineer you will ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality and health and safety standards
Maintaining company-issued PPE, tools, equipment and company vehicle
Reporting any defects, health and safety concerns, accidents or near misses
As the Field Service Mechanical Engineer you will be monitoring the work schedule and communicating with management regarding allocated work
Supporting other Field Service Engineers when required
Assisting with the training and development of colleagues
As the Field Service Mechanical Engineer you will be Identifying opportunities to improve site work and servicing processes
Attending customer or supplier sites for additional projects, training, investigations or engineering-related activities when required
Working overtime, nights and occasional weekends to meet customer and operational requirements Candidate Requirements for the Field Service Mechanical Engineer role:
A minimum of 3 years' experience within an engineering environment
A proven background working as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Service Engineer is essential for the role
A qualification in Mechanical Engineering is essential for the role
Strong mechanical engineering knowledge
Ideally, experience within the materials handling industry
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Experience completing RAMS and working to strict health and safety procedures
Strong planning and organisational skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities
A high level of attention to detail
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365
Experience using ERP systems, ideally SAP
The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A calm and logical approach to problem-solving
The ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
A willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home
Flexibility to work overtime, nights and occasional weekends
A full UK Driving Licence
IPAF Certificate would be ideal however not essential
RTITB Certificate or FLT License would be ideal however not essential
CSCS card would be ideal however not essential
Must be able to pass DBS clearance
First Aid training would be ideal however not essential This role would suit candidates with the following experience: Field Service Engineer, Field Mechanical Engineer, Mechanical Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Mobile Engineer, Service Technician, Mechanical Technician, Materials Handling Engineer, Conveyor Engineer, Plant Engineer, Installation Engineer or Site Engineer.
This role is commutable from: Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stafford, Crewe, Nantwich, Congleton, Macclesfield, Derby, Burton upon Trent, Lichfield, Cannock, Wolverhampton, Telford, Shrewsbury, Birmingham and surrounding areas.
Hours: Monday - Thursday: 8:00 am - 16:30 pm - Friday: 8:00 am - 15:30 pm
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 + overtime + food allowance (between £10-£15 for breakfast and dinner, £35 for evening)
