How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What you’ll be taking ownership of as Maintenance Supervisor:

    Take ownership of business-critical engineering systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
    Oversee planned and reactive maintenance, balancing hands-on work with team supervision.
    Manage work schedules, contractors and accurate maintenance and compliance records through the CAFM system.
    Carry out Authorised Person and Competent Person duties where formally appointed.
    Maintain safe systems of work and ensure statutory, industry and organisational compliance.
    Lead, support and develop the team while working closely with key stakeholders across the estate.
    Provide out-of-hours support when required, leading by example to maintain operational performance.
    What you’ll bring to the team as Maintenance Supervisor at King’s College London:

    Fully qualified, either electrical or mechanical, level 3, 18th edition, full apprenticeship, or level 3 mechanical
    IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
    Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office and particularly Microsoft Excel
    Proven supervisory experience of a multi trade maintenance division within a similar complex estate
    Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
    Desirable qualifications include a Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations (2391 / 2394+2395), Authorised Person or Responsible Person status, a Level 3 Leadership and Management qualification, and experience with BMS or controls systems.

    Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based on one of Kings College London’s campuses in Central London.
