A Fantastic Opportunity: Jointers Mate
The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.
As a Jointers Mate you will work as part of a two-person team on work including street furniture faults, replacing single and three phase service terminations, finding and repairing customer services, restoring supplies to multiple customers including LV operations and repairing high voltage cables.
You will be expected as part of a team to complete Point of Work Risk Assessments, raise permits, use disc cutters, breakers hand tools and mini diggers to excavate in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company codes of practice to provide access to our network in readiness for all aspects of jointing work.
As the successful candidate, you will be required to participate in a 24 hour standby rota to provide quality continuous service to our customers.
What we’re looking for
We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who meet the following criteria:
Hold operational authorisations to act as a competent person;
Have experience and an understanding of utility records;
Hold a NRSWA (New Roads & Street Works Act) accreditation;
Be willing to work outside in all weathers;
Have experience excavating, backfilling and reinstating to Highways Authorities and Utilities Committees;
Be in possession of a full UK driving licence (essential) with categories B+E (desirable);
Be customer focused with the ability to communicate with both internal and external customers;
Demonstrate the ability to complete paperwork relating to work based activities.
