About the role
We are looking for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to join a busy manufacturing environment in Sheffield on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator looking for secure, long term employment with consistent Monday to Friday working hours.
As a Sheet Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for producing high quality sheet metal components and assemblies to the required specifications. The successful Sheet Metal Fabricator will have practical fabrication skills, a good eye for detail and the ability to work accurately and efficiently.
This permanent Sheet Metal Fabricator position offers a competitive hourly rate of £14.00 to £17.00, depending on experience and suitability for the role.
Key responsibilities
• Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components to required specifications
• Read and work from technical drawings and fabrication plans
• Measure, mark out, cut and shape sheet metal accurately
• Use appropriate hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment
• Check finished components for quality, accuracy and conformity
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area
• Work efficiently to meet production requirements and deadlines
Skills and experience required
• Previous experience working as a Sheet Metal Fabricator or in a similar metal fabrication role
• Practical experience with sheet metal fabrication and assembly
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings
• Good measuring and marking out skills
• Ability to work accurately and pay close attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety
