How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mobile Plant Engineer
    Oxford
    £19.50- £21ph

    Overview
    Join a leading global Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of plant machinery as a Mobile Plant Engineer. We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team, covering Oxford and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for someone located within an hour and a half of Oxford to work with cutting-edge machinery, receive industry-leading training, and enjoy a competitive compensation package.

    Responsibilities

    Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery.
    Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
    Conduct routine inspections to ensure equipment is operating efficiently and safely.
    Provide exceptional customer service while working on-site at client locations.
    Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
    Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
    Collaborate with the technical support team to resolve complex issues.
    Qualifications

    Proven experience as a plant engineer, mobile engineer, or similar role.
    Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
    Relevant qualifications in engineering or plant maintenance (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
    Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
    Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    Full UK driving license.
    Strong communication and customer service skills.
    Day-to-Day

    Travel to customer sites across the northern region to perform maintenance and repairs.
    Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve faults.
    Liaise with customers to provide updates and ensure satisfaction with completed work.
    Maintain and manage the company-provided van, ensuring it is stocked with necessary tools and parts.
    Attend manufacturer training sessions to stay updated on the latest technologies and machinery.
