Are you an experienced Air Conditioning professional ready to take the next step into a key leadership role
We are looking for a technically strong and commercially minded Air Conditioning Service Manager to lead and develop a growing AC department based in Stevenage. This is a hands-on management role, giving you the opportunity to manage engineers, support technical delivery, oversee service and reactive works, and play a key part in the continued growth of the department.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing and supporting a small team of Air Conditioning Engineers, ensuring service, PPM, reactive and remedial works are planned and delivered efficiently. Alongside the operational side of the role, you will also be involved in pricing, quotations, small works and larger project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing, supporting and developing a team of AC Engineers
Providing technical support and guidance on fault finding and complex issues
Reviewing engineer reports and identifying remedial works and commercial opportunities
Managing service, reactive, remedial and PPM works
Monitoring workloads and ensuring works are completed within agreed timescales
Pricing and quoting for servicing, reactive works, remedials and small installations
Supporting the planning, costing and delivery of larger AC projects
Coordinating labour and subcontractors where required
Liaising with suppliers and manufacturers regarding technical issues, parts and lead times
Managing service contracts and PPM requirements
Supporting recruitment, training and development as the department grows
Maintaining strong client relationships and attending technical meetings when required
Helping to improve processes, reporting, efficiency and profitability
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will come from a strong commercial air conditioning background and have previous experience as a Service Manager, Senior Engineer, Supervisor or similar.
You will ideally have:
Strong commercial air conditioning experience
Excellent technical knowledge of AC systems, servicing and fault finding
Experience managing or supervising engineers
Experience pricing service, remedial and small works
A good understanding of PPM contracts and service requirements
The ability to interpret engineer reports and produce accurate quotations
Commercial awareness of labour, materials, margins and project costs
Strong organisational and communication skills
Knowledge of relevant AC legislation, regulations and industry requirements
A full UK driving licence
Experience with major AC manufacturers, including Mitsubishi, would be advantageous.
