How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Laboratory Supervisor

Trefriw, North Wales | Permanent | Competitive Salary + Benefits

Are you an experienced laboratory professional looking to take the next step in your career, or an established Laboratory Supervisor seeking a role where you can make a real impact?

We are seeking a Quality Laboratory Supervisor to join a growing healthcare manufacturing site in Trefriw. This position will oversee the site's laboratory activities, including outsourced chemistry testing, onsite microbiological analysis, and GMP compliance, while leading and developing a small team.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced laboratory leader or a senior analyst ready to progress into a supervisory role within a regulated manufacturing environment.

    The Role

Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will be responsible for ensuring laboratory activities are performed in compliance with GMP and company standards, while supporting product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Supervising and developing Quality Assurance personnel, providing technical guidance and day-to-day support.

    * Coordinating laboratory workloads and ensuring testing is completed within agreed timelines.

    * Managing relationships with external contract testing laboratories and reviewing outsourced chemistry results.

    * Overseeing onsite microbiological testing programmes, including environmental monitoring, water testing, and routine microbiological analysis.

    * Reviewing laboratory data and ensuring results are accurately recorded and investigated where required.

    * Supporting investigations into out-of-specification (OOS), out-of-trend (OOT), and atypical results.

    * Ensuring laboratory procedures, documentation, and records comply with GMP requirements.

    * Assisting with internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.

    * Maintaining laboratory equipment, calibration, and maintenance programmes.

    * Working closely with QA, Production, and Warehouse teams to support site quality objectives.

    * Contributing to quality metrics, trend analysis, and management reporting.

    About You

We are interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:

    * Experience working within a QC, analytical, microbiology, or laboratory environment in a regulated industry.

    * A strong understanding of GMP and laboratory compliance requirements.

    * Experience reviewing laboratory data and investigating Quality deviations or non-conformances.

    * Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.

    * Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.

    * A proactive approach to continuous improvement and laboratory excellence.

For candidates looking to step into supervision, previous leadership experience is not essential, although experience mentoring, training, or supporting colleagues would be highly advantageous.

    Desirable Experience

    * Degree qualification in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.

    * Experience within pharmaceuticals, healthcare products, nutraceuticals, food supplements, or other regulated manufacturing sectors.

    * Exposure to microbiological testing techniques and environmental monitoring programmes.

    * Experience managing outsourced laboratory testing providers.

    * Knowledge of GLP, GMP, Quality Risk Management, and laboratory investigations.

    * Experience participating in audits and regulatory inspections.

    What's on Offer?

    * Permanent position based in the beautiful surroundings of Trefriw, North Wales.

    * Opportunity to take ownership of laboratory operations and influence quality standards across the site.

    * A genuine career development opportunity for senior analysts looking to move into leadership.

    * Exposure to both microbiology and analytical testing activities.

    * Supportive and collaborative working environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.

If you're passionate about laboratory science, quality, and compliance, and are looking to develop your career within a growing healthcare manufacturing environment, we'd love to hear from you
