The team is expanding and the hire will sit alongside architects, surveyors and project managers, with exposure to a broader range of instructions than a single-discipline practice typically offers.
The Chartered Building Surveyor Role
This Chartered Building Surveyor will split time between technical building surveying and project management across commercial, industrial and mixed-use property. The role carries direct client responsibility and regular contact with senior leaders across the practice.
There is scope to shape how the building surveying service develops as the team grows, making it well suited to someone who wants involvement beyond day-to-day delivery.
Duties of the Chartered Building Surveyor to include:
Managing building surveying instructions from commission through to completion
Acting as Project Manager and Contract Administrator on refurbishment and fit-out schemes
Preparing specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation
Undertaking building condition surveys and defect diagnosis
Producing schedules of dilapidations and advising on landlord/tenant matters
Overseeing contractor performance and reporting progress to clients
Advising on planned maintenance and lifecycle costing
Contributing to client development and maintaining trusted relationshipsThe Person?

The Chartered Building Surveyor will ideally have:
MRICS qualification
Strong experience across building surveying and project management
A background covering commercial and industrial property
Confidence managing multiple live instructions simultaneously
Ability to build and maintain client relationships
Experience with contract administration and tender processes
