The role: Provide strategic oversight of the service, support the Registered Manager, ensure strong governance and safeguarding arrangements, and take responsibility for ensuring the home operates in line with Ofsted requirements and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
The candidate we're looking for
*
An experienced Responsible Individual with a strong background in children's residential care, or an experienced senior children's care professional with the knowledge and experience to step into an RI position
*
Strong understanding of Ofsted registration, inspections and regulatory requirements
*
Excellent knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards
*
Confident overseeing safeguarding, care planning, risk management, complaints, incidents and quality assurance
*
Understanding of Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 monitoring and reporting requirements
*
Experience providing effective governance and oversight across children's residential services
*
Strong understanding of safer recruitment, staff development, supervision and performance management
*
Experience working with children and young people with EBD, trauma, complex needs and challenging behaviours
*
Able to work closely with the Registered Manager to maintain high standards and drive continuous improvement
*
Enhanced DBS and the ability to commute to or regularly travel to Derby
The opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced children's residential care professional to take on a key Responsible Individual position within a new service in Derby.
You will play an important role in providing strategic oversight, supporting the Registered Manager and ensuring the service is well-governed, safe and fully compliant with Ofsted requirements.
The role would suit someone who understands what good children's residential care looks like and can provide strong leadership, challenge and support to ensure the service delivers positive outcomes for children and young people.
