Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter who thrives in a fast-paced continuous manufacturing environment? Do you want a role that combines hands-on mechanical repair with core process operation—offering direct career progression and long-term development?
We are seeking a dual-skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our client's production team working across the machine and stock preparation areas.
The Role:
In this hybrid position, you will operate high-speed paper manufacturing equipment while acting as the primary first-line mechanical responder on shift.
First-Line Mechanical Response: Lead breakdown interventions, fault-finding, and rapid repairs on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, alignment, and drive systems to minimize downtime.
Process Operation: Run stock prep and machine sections to target speeds, maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency.
Asset Care & PMs: Execute planned mechanical maintenance routes, isolations (LOTO), component swaps, and condition monitoring during shift runs and planned shut-downs.
Continuous Improvement: Work alongside engineering and production teams to drive root-cause failure analysis (RCFA) and operational reliability.
