How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Production Operator

    Location: Rochester, Kent
    Salary: £28,000 to £30,000
    Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Are you someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, likes being hands-on and wants to build a long-term career with a growing business?

We’re supporting a fast-growing manufacturer in the Medway area that is investing heavily in new production equipment, people and its wider operation.

They are now looking for experienced Production Operators to join the team and help run newly introduced automated manufacturing equipment.

This is a permanent opportunity with a business that is continuing to expand, invest and create new opportunities across its production operation.

    The Role

You’ll play an important part in keeping production running safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

    Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

    Operating automated production machinery

Preparing equipment for different products and production runs

Supporting machine setup and product changeovers

    Monitoring production throughout the shift

Making basic adjustments to maintain quality and output

Identifying straightforward production or machine issues

Carrying out cleaning procedures between production runs

Completing quality checks throughout the manufacturing process

Completing accurate production and batch paperwork

Maintaining good housekeeping and hygiene standards

Following strict health and safety procedures

Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams

Supporting the introduction of new machinery and processes

    What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for people with experience in manufacturing, production or a similarly fast-paced operational environment.

You do not necessarily need to have held the title of Machine Operator before.

What matters is that you are comfortable working around production equipment, willing to learn and confident taking responsibility for your area.

We would particularly like to hear from people with experience in:

    Manufacturing

    Food or beverage production

    Pharmaceutical environments

    Nutraceutical production

    FMCG

    Packaging

    Automated production

    Factory or process environments

Experience with any of the following would be useful:

    Operating production machinery

    Machine setup

    Product or format changeovers

    Basic machine adjustments

    First-line fault finding

    Cleaning machinery between products

    Quality checks

    Working to production targets

    Batch paperwork and traceability

    Working within hygiene-controlled environments

    The Person

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical and genuinely wants to learn.

    You’ll be someone who:

Takes pride in producing a high-quality product

    Is comfortable working around machinery

Notices when something is not running quite right

Is willing to learn basic machine adjustments and fault finding

    Works cleanly, safely and methodically

Can follow detailed processes and instructions

Is comfortable working to production targets

    Wants a permanent, stable role

Is looking for somewhere they can develop and stay long term

    Why Consider It?

The business is going through a significant period of growth and investment.

New machinery is being introduced, production capacity is increasing and the wider manufacturing operation is continuing to develop.

That means this is a great opportunity to join at an exciting point, learn new processes and equipment, and build a long-term career within a growing production team.

    Salary: £28,000 to £30,000

If you have production or manufacturing experience and want a role where you can develop your technical skills and take on more responsibility over time, apply today and we’ll be in touch for an initial conversation
