Coram Children's Legal Centre (CCLC), a leading specialist legal practice and Coram International Adoption Centre (IAC), a highly respected adoption support centre, are seeking Treasurers to join our Boards of Trustees. This is an opportunity for two finance professionals to use their expertise to support organisations that champion the rights and welfare of children as part of the wider Coram Group.
About the role
The Treasurer is a trustee who provides leadership and oversight on financial matters to the Board, working closely with fellow trustees and senior leaders including finance colleagues.
The Treasurer will:
- Support the Board in understanding the financial implications of strategic decisions.
- Oversee financial risk controls and management.
- Review annual budgets, management accounts, and reserves.
- Scrutinise the annual report and accounts for the relevant charity as part of the Group audit process.
We are seeking someone with:
- A recognised accounting or financial qualification, or significant senior financial leadership experience.
- Experience of financial planning, budgeting, audit and risk management.
- For CCLC, knowledge of legal practice finances and Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) reporting is desirable.
- The ability to communicate complex financial information.
- Strategic thinking, sound judgment and a collaborative approach.
- A commitment to the values and mission of CCLC, IAC and the wider Coram Group.
Time commitment
- Attend six meetings per year, in person, including membership of the Audit Committee.
- Meetings are held at the Coram campus, with occasional remote attendance.
