How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

An exciting opportunity for a senior private funds lawyer to join a leading international City law firm and play a key role in the continued growth of its highly regarded funds practice.

    The Firm

    • A leading international law firm with a significant London presence, advising FTSE100 and multinational corporates, major financial institutions and global investors.
    • The firm has a strong reputation for technical excellence, commercial advice and long-term client relationships, with a collaborative and entrepreneurial culture.
    • The London practice is continuing to grow as part of an ambitious international expansion strategy, with significant investment in people, technology and new areas of expertise.
    • The firm offers a genuinely international platform, with lawyers regularly collaborating across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

    The Opportunity

    • This is a strategic growth hire within an established and highly regarded private funds practice.
    • The role offers the opportunity to work at Managing Associate level, taking significant responsibility for complex private funds matters.
    • You will advise a sophisticated client base of first-time managers through to established global institutions, as well as institutional investors, family offices and other sophisticated market participants.
    • The practice covers a broad range of funds work, with particular strength across private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure and private credit/debt funds.
    • There is genuine scope to develop client relationships, contribute to the continued growth of the practice and play a visible role in its future direction.

    The Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in private funds and will take day-to-day responsibility for matters, working directly with clients and collaborating with colleagues across the wider firm.

You will have the opportunity to:

    • Advise fund managers and investors on fund formations, investments and structuring.
    • Draft and negotiate key fund documentation, including LPAs, PPMs and side letters.
    • Lead and support negotiations with fund managers, investors and other stakeholders.
    • Manage matters with appropriate partner support while taking increasing ownership of client relationships.
    • Work alongside lawyers across corporate, tax, finance, regulatory and other specialist practices on complex transactions.
    • Contribute to business development, thought leadership and client relationship initiatives.
    • Help shape the continued development of the practice, including through training, know-how and the use of technology and AI.

    What They're Looking For

    • UK-qualified solicitor with 4+ PQE and strong private funds experience.
    • A track record advising on private funds mandates appropriate to your level of seniority.
    • Strong experience drafting and negotiating fund documentation, particularly LPAs, PPMs and side letters.
    • Commercially minded, with the ability to provide clear and pragmatic advice.
    • Confident dealing directly with sophisticated clients and counterparties.
    • Strong negotiation and matter management skills.
    • A genuine interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business development.
    • Collaborative, approachable and ambitious, with an appetite to take on responsibility and progress.

    Why Consider It?

This is a particularly attractive opportunity for a 4+ PQE private funds lawyer looking for more responsibility and a platform on which to build. The practice is growing, the work is increasingly sophisticated and the role offers the chance to work with a broad range of managers and investors across multiple asset classes and jurisdictions.

For someone looking to combine high-quality private funds work with genuine career progression, international exposure and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in a growing practice, this is a role worth exploring.
