How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Casual Kids Football Coach – UCS Active

    Reports to: Fitness Services Manager

    Location: UCS Active, Frognal, NW3 6XH

    Salary:£25 per session

    Start Date:1 October 2026

    Hours: Saturday mornings, 10:30am–12:30pm

    DBS Requirement: Enhanced DBS Background


    University College School (UCS) is one of the leading independent schools in the UK.     The Senior School is within easy walking distance of Finchley Road (Metropolitan and Jubilee lines), Finchley Road & Frognal (Overground), Hampstead (Northern line) and West Hampstead (Thameslink) stations.

    Staff are encouraged to use public transport, although limited car parking may be available on site.


    Role Overview

    We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and reliable Casual Kids Football Coach to join our team on Saturday mornings.


    The successful candidate will deliver fun, structured and age-appropriate football sessions to children aged 4–11. The main objective is to foster a safe, positive and inclusive environment where young players can build confidence, develop fundamental football skills, stay active and enjoy the game.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Session Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate drills, physical games and mini-matches tailored to different age groups, including 4–7 and 8–11 years.
    • Child Engagement: Create an encouraging and inclusive environment for children of all abilities and skill levels.
    • Safety & Welfare: Ensure all activities are conducted safely, manage group discipline positively and carry out appropriate checks before each session.
    • Parent Communication: Act as a friendly point of contact for parents and guardians, providing brief, positive updates on children's progress and answering general questions.
    • Equipment Management: Assist with setting up pitches, goals, cones, balls and other equipment before sessions, and ensure everything is safely packed away afterwards.
    • First Aid & Incidents: Administer basic first aid where appropriately qualified and record accidents or incidents in accordance with company procedures.


    Qualifications & Experience

    Essential

    • FA Level 1 Football Coaching Qualification, or equivalent.
    • Safeguarding Children Certificate.
    • First Aid Certificate.
    • Public Liability Insurance.
    • Experience coaching or working with young children, such as through sports coaching, teaching, childcare or youth work.
    • Enthusiastic, punctual and reliable, with excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to successfully complete an Enhanced DBS check.
    • Strong understanding of basic football fundamentals and physical literacy for children.

    The successful candidate will be:

    • Proactive: A hands-on problem-solver with a positive attitude towards youth sports and activities.
    • Organised: Punctual, reliable and capable of managing equipment and session timings effectively.
    • Enthusiastic: Able to project enthusiasm and maintain a fun, energetic environment for young children.
    • Patient and empathetic: Skilled at encouraging hesitant young children and managing varied behaviour calmly and positively.
