The successful candidate will take a leading role in the firm's approach to AML, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, fraud prevention and wider financial crime compliance. Combining strategic oversight with senior-level advisory work, they will ensure the firm's framework remains robust, commercially pragmatic and responsive to regulatory change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the global financial crime strategy, policies and controls.
- Lead and develop the financial crime and compliance function across multiple jurisdictions.
- Provide senior guidance on complex AML, sanctions, client due diligence and source of funds/wealth matters.
- Oversee financial crime governance and support regulatory obligations and engagement.
- Monitor regulatory developments and advise on emerging risks.
- Drive improvements across onboarding, screening, technology and compliance processes.
This role would suit an established financial crime professional with 10+ years' relevant experience gained within a law firm environment. Strong knowledge of UK AML, sanctions and wider financial crime regulation is essential, together with experience leading teams and developing effective compliance frameworks.
You will be commercially minded, confident advising senior stakeholders and comfortable making decisions on complex and sensitive matters. International exposure and experience improving compliance technology or processes would be advantageous.
