How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commercial Disputes Associate (NQ +)

International Law Firm | Cross-Office Disputes Team

A leading international law firm is seeking a Commercial Disputes Associate to join its highly regarded and growing disputes practice in its Manchester based office. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor with a strong Commercial Disputes seat, or an existing Associate to work on a diverse range of domestic and international contentious matters.

Working as part of a collaborative cross-office team, you will gain exposure to high-profile litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution matters, supporting a broad client base on complex, strategically important disputes.

    The Role

You will advise on a varied caseload of commercial and public law disputes, including:

    • Commercial and contractual disputes
    • Arbitration and alternative dispute resolution
    • Public law disputes and judicial review
    • Procurement litigation
    • Professional negligence claims
    • Urgent injunctions
    • Reputation management matters
    • Contentious insolvency work

Many matters have an international dimension, providing the opportunity to work on cross-border disputes and complex, high-value cases across a range of sectors.

You will manage your own matters with appropriate supervision while also supporting partners and senior lawyers on larger, more complex disputes. In addition, you will play an active role in business development initiatives, client relationship management, seminars, training events and wider profile-raising activities.

    What's on Offer?

    • High-quality commercial disputes work with national and international clients
    • Exposure to a wide range of litigation, arbitration and public law matters
    • Strong partner support and mentoring
    • Excellent career progression opportunities within a well-established disputes practice
    • A collaborative and supportive working culture
    • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious disputes lawyer looking to develop their career within a respected international law firm and gain exposure to some of the most interesting and complex contentious work in the market.

    Excellent salary commensurate with experience.
