How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    What we ask

    Education

    No minimum education required

    Job description

    Head of Data

    Salary: Up to £100,000

Location: London with highly flexible hybrid working

Benefits: 10% non-contributory pension, generous annual leave and strong benefits

    Contract: Permanent

We’re partnering with an established organisation at the beginning of a major data transformation.

Its data environment is currently fragmented, with multiple sources, inconsistent definitions and limited internal ownership. As Head of Data, you’ll build an internal data capability from the ground up and establish data as a strategic business asset.

    The role

    You will:

    • Build and lead a new data function, expected to grow to around five people.
    • Establish the foundations of Microsoft Fabric and a medallion architecture.
    • Consolidate disparate sources and improve data quality, governance and ownership.
    • Develop reporting and self-service analytics that support better business decisions.
    • Improve data literacy through workshops, training and stakeholder engagement.
    • Work with the Data Architect and wider transformation programme to establish the foundations for future AI initiatives.

    What we’re looking for:

We need an experienced data leader who has previously transformed a complex, low-maturity data environment.

    You should bring:

    • Experience building or significantly developing a data function.
    • A strong record of delivering data transformation and measurable outcomes.
    • Microsoft Fabric experience and knowledge of medallion architecture.
    • Strong experience across data quality, governance, ownership and consolidation.
    • An understanding of data protection and DPO responsibilities.
    • Credible experience with data-led AI initiatives or AI agents.
    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

You’ll need to challenge existing ways of working collaboratively, influence without dictating and translate complex data topics into clear business value.

There is no fixed weekly office requirement, although you’ll be expected to attend when valuable, particularly during the first six months and for monthly team days.
