How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

March 2027 NQs - it’s not too early to start thinking about roles on qualification.

Qualification might still feel a little way off, but the reality is that the NQ market can move quickly - and it pays to be prepared.

If you’re due to qualify in March 2027, now is a good time to start thinking about what you want your next move to look like.

You don’t need to be actively applying or have everything figured out. But starting to explore the market early can give you a real advantage.

What firms are likely to be hiring?

What opportunities could be available in your practice area?

What should you expect in terms of salary?

And what can you do now to put yourself in the strongest position when roles start coming to market?

The best opportunities can attract interest quickly, so don’t risk getting left behind by starting the conversation too late.

We’re already speaking with March 2027 NQs about their plans and the opportunities that could be available on qualification.

Whether you’re committed to staying with your current firm, considering your external options, or simply want to understand the market, it’s worth exploring.
