Salt are partnered with a global media and content organisation, and they are looking for an Employment & Compliance Legal Counsel to join on a contract basis.
Location: London (Hybrid)
Day Rate: £300 per day (Inside IR35)
Duration: 4 months initial contract, with potential extension
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an employment lawyer to support a large international business on a broad range of employment law, employee relations, compliance, immigration and workforce governance matters across multiple jurisdictions.
Working closely with HR, legal and business stakeholders, you will provide practical and commercially focused advice on employment-related issues, support investigations and consultations, contribute to international compliance initiatives, and help navigate evolving workplace regulations, including the implementation and governance of AI technologies.
Requirements
- Qualified legal professional with 2+ years' post-qualification experience
- Strong experience advising on UK employment law issues within private practice or an in-house environment
- Experience handling international employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions
- Proven background supporting employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes
- Knowledge of collective and individual consultation processes, restructuring and redundancy programmes
- Experience advising on diversity, inclusion and workforce representation matters
- Ability to support employment litigation and manage external legal counsel where required
- Understanding of employment compliance frameworks and regulatory obligations
- Experience working with AI tools and advising stakeholders on the legal, compliance, governance and data privacy implications of AI within the workplace
- Ability to coordinate employment law matters across Europe and APAC regions
- Exposure to ethical compliance programmes and internal compliance policies would be advantageous
- Interest or experience in immigration, global mobility and visa sponsorship compliance
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective relationships across international teams
- Commercially minded with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to legal advice
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
- Additional European language skills would be beneficial
