How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    One of our national clients are looking for a Junior Buyer to join their team.


    Purpose of the Role

    The Junior Buyer will provide support to the Commercial Development Manager with day-to-day procurement and supply chain activities to effectively manage GWR’s catering requirements. Ensuring products are sourced effectively, set up in systems accordingly and stock availability is maintained through order placement... The role supports sourcing, inventory management, supplier relationships and product launches whilst delivering excellent service and commercial value.


    Key Accountabilities

     Support day-to-day procurement and supply chain activities to ensure product availability and continuity of supply.

     Assist with supplier product forecasting, ordering and stock levels in line with client requirements and supplier lead times.

     Collaborate with Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations and NPD teams to support product launches and menu changes.

     Assist with sourcing activities including tenders, supplier reviews, range reviews and new product introductions.

     Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, operation team and client stakeholders.

     Monitor supplier performance, product availability and service levels, resolving issues where required.

     Maintain product, pricing and supplier information across relevant systems.

     Support negotiations, price management and cost-saving initiatives.

     Prepare procurement, stock and supplier performance reports, including KPI and savings reporting.

     Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards and approved sourcing procedures.

    Person Specification

    Essential

     Experience in procurement, buying, supply chain or commercial support.

     Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

     Excellent communication skills.

     Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

     Commercial awareness and numerical ability.

     Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

     Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.


    Desirable

     Travel, food service, hospitality, retail or FMCG experience.

     Knowledge of sourcing and tendering processes.

     Understanding forecasting, stock control and inventory management.

     Project management experience.
