How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    This Procurement Consultant role focuses on managing procurement projects across Adult Social Care, Children's Services, and Public Health. You'll play a key part in ensuring the public sector achieves value for money and delivers essential services effectively.

    Description

    Leading pre-market engagement activities
    Advising on appropriate routes to market
    Developing procurement strategies and supporting governance approvals
    Supporting the development of procurement documentation
    Acting as a critical friend during specification development
    Designing commercial models and pricing schedules
    Supporting the development of technical evaluation questions and weightings
    Managing procurement exercises through the Council's eTendering systems (Delta/Mercell)
    Managing supplier communications and market engagement
    Handling procurement clarifications
    Facilitating competitive dialogue processes where required
    Managing evaluation activities and moderation sessions
    Supporting award recommendations and governance approvals
    Assisting with contract mobilisation and handover activities

    Profile

    Proven experience delivering end-to-end procurement projects
    Strong understanding of UK public sector procurement regulations and best practice
    Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
    Experience working collaboratively with technical and operational teams
    Strong commercial awareness and procurement strategy development skills
    Experience using eTendering platforms such as Delta or Mercell
    Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management capabilities

    Job Offer

    Daily rate of £500 (outside ir35)
    6-month contract, with potential to extend.
