How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Java / AWS Developer (5 Positions Available)

    Location: Leeds (Hybrid – 3 days per week on-site)

    Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    Start Date: Immediate (1-Week Notice Period / Immediate Joiners Only)

    Salary: Open / Market-Competitive £70,000 to £100,000

    Work Authorization: Must have full, existing UK Right to Work (No Sponsorship Available)

    Role Overview

    We are recruiting for 5 Senior Java Developers to design, build, and optimize scalable, cloud-native software solutions. Working within an Agile environment, you will write clean, secure code, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and support mission-critical enterprise systems.

    This role includes Level 3 (L3) operational and out-of-hours on-call support.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Design, build, and deploy reusable, secure code using Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.

    * Deploy and manage applications across native AWS services (ECS, S3, Lambda, SQS, Step Functions).

    * Maintain, fault-find, and enhance production infrastructure and service components.

    * Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Groovy, and CloudFormation.

    * Provide L3 application support, including rotating 24/7 on-call coverage.

    * Collaborate closely with cross-functional Agile teams to support system integration and user-cantered design.

    Key Requirements & Skills

    * Core Technical Stack: 7+ years of hands-on Java development experience (Spring Boot) and enterprise front-end tools (AngularJS, TypeScript, Node.js).

    * AWS & Cloud Infrastructure: Deep experience deploying to AWS services (ECR, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, Step Functions, Apigee).

    * Testing & Quality Assurance: Proficiency with Karate, Gherkin, Cypress, Jest, Maven, Docker, SonarQube, and Fortify on Demand.

    * Automation & Scripting: Strong knowledge of Groovy, Bash, CloudFormation, and Jenkins.

    * Certification: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional (or higher) is expected.

    * Process: Solid understanding of the SDLC, secure coding practices, and Agile delivery.

    Desirable Skills

    * ITIL Certification.

    * Experience with user-cantered design and prototyping methods
