Engineering Project Manager

YT Tech is partnering with an established leader in global defence and aerospace technology to recruit a Engineering Project Manager for their Research & Development team. This critical role combines technical oversight, resource management, and hands-on engineering to deliver complex systems solutions.
The Role
*
Drive technical performance and configuration baselines for assigned R&D projects.
*
Coordinate cross-functional internal and external engineering resources (suppliers, consultants, CEMs).
*
Participate in hands-on development (systems, electronics, or software) as needed.
*
Manage development schedules, project Kanban boards, and requirements specifications.
*
Line manage and recruit engineering team members, while deputising for the R&D Director.
Requirements
*
Strong engineering background with hands-on experience in electronics, software, or systems development.
*
Proven track record of managing and delivering complex R&D projects.
*
Exceptional authoring skills for requirements, design, and test specifications.
*
Skilled in stakeholder management, team leadership, and working in high-pressure environments.
*
Must be eligible for UK Security Vetting (BPSS minimum required; UK residency conditions apply).
