How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering & Manuafactuirng company

    The Opportunity

    We are recruiting for a Process Operative / FLT Driver to join a busy and fast-paced manufacturing operation. This position offers a varied role involving material handling, stock movement, metal processing, and dispatch activities within a safety-focused environment.

    The successful candidate will have previous warehouse experience, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to health and safety.

    Key Responsibilities

    Loading and unloading vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
    Safe operation of overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
    Completing all operational paperwork and pre-use inspections accurately.
    Processing materials to customer specifications.
    Packing and preparing finished metal products for dispatch.
    Following written procedures and work instructions.
    Maintaining high housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
    Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
    Ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements.
    Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily operational targets.About You

    Essential

    Previous experience within a warehouse, metals/manufacturing, or distribution environment.
    Valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
    Experience loading and unloading vehicles.
    Good communication and organisational skills.
    Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
    Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.Desirable

    Experience operating overhead cranes and using lifting slings.
    Previous experience handling metals, industrial products, or chemicals.
    Knowledge of stock control and warehouse management processes.
    Understanding of 5S and continuous improvement principles.Personal Attributes
